From Ken’s desk January 2012
We have finally found a new home, after ten months of looking, being ‘pipped at the post’ by bigger companies with more financial muscle, and not being able to afford the outrageous and long-term leases people are seeking in Christchurch. Well, at least temporarily for the next one to two years. As you will be aware our HMA office was lost in the February and subsequent June 2011 earthquakes in Christchurch. There is a feeling of déjà vu given that a year ago we took possession of our offices in Westpark Towers in the city and a year later we are on the move again. We are being brave as Ferrymead is located exactly one kilometre from the epicentre of the February 2011 shake.
Our new home is situated out of the central Christchurch CBD (Does that exist anymore? – “Barely”, is the right answer) in a suburb called Ferrymead. Ferrymead sits between Woolston and Sumner and, like most of currently habitable Christchurch, is a low-rise suburb. The facility is well set-up for our needs as it has a good size training room, superfast broadband cabling for our on-line supervision, coaching and video conferencing and a good space for clinical work. The location provides a lovely tidal estuary which is calming and also a venue for many water sports including kite boarding, wind surfing and yachting.
Our new physical address is:
