We are almost ready

We are in the final stages of publishing the app onto the Apple and Google Play stores for iOS and Android devices and are due to go live with Ake – our safety and behaviour support app, at the end of March.

As you can imagine, this is an exciting milestone, representing many hours from the developers, film crew, actors, and writers. The feedback has been extremely positive about what we have developed. This week we are in Melbourne filming an Australian version of the material, which will allow us to be more culturally relevant.

The app is designed with three main purposes in mind:

  1. To assist men in gaining better emotional regulation skills by regularly accessing the emotions compass and then directing them to material that can support family/whanau well-being
  1. Providing program facilitators with the ability to support better session readiness and post-session reflections
  1. Supporting learning transfer post sessions and post programs

As we all know, breaking old habits and developing new ones takes time. If we take the notion that being relational is a habit, then building habits based on respect and dignity of others becomes an ongoing journey. The work is not completed at the conclusion of an intervention. The intervention assists men in developing the skills to live a different, more ethical life.

If you would like us to demo the app to you and your team, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and we can arrange a time.
