Ake – The pilot and evaluation begins
We’re thrilled to announce that the evaluation and pilot of Ake, our innovative family violence programme support app, has officially begun. Our goal is to identify answers for several key questions, including but not limited to:
- What content in the app is beneficial for service users?
- Which features of the app are useful for clinicians?
- How can it be improved for clinicians and service users?
We kicked off the year by collaborating with a number of key agencies, working together to determine the best way to integrate Ake into their existing services. These discussions were invaluable, allowing us to identify potential pain points and fine-tune our approach. Our partners highlighted the potential of Ake as a powerful tool during intake and assessment processes and its usefulness in both group and individual therapy sessions. We also covered the best approach for an evaluation and how the pilot will work in tandem with the evaluator, research and evaluation specialist Sue Carswell from Carswell Consultancy.
Next week marks a significant milestone as Ake begins its first real-world application within a men’s family violence service at one of these partner agencies. We’re incredibly excited to see the impact Ake will have and learn from this initial pilot. The next steps for us include supporting these agencies as they adopt the app into their services for the pilot period.
Stay tuned for more updates as we progress through the pilot and continue to refine Ake to best support clinicians and users of family violence in their journey toward family wellbeing. We’re committed to making a real difference, and this is a huge step forward.
We also started a monthly blog on the Ake website, where we will be posting about development updates, app features, and more. Check it out here: get.akeapp.com/blog
