This means engaging with a variety of audiences and delivering material that is relevant, practical and most of all useful. Above all I aim to enhance practice and contribute to the well being of others.”
Matt has a 15 year history working within the social service and criminal justice sectors as a trainer and programme developer. Over the years he has worked with a variety of people from adolescents and youth at risk to criminal justice staff. Matt is known for developing creative training solutions both ‘on’ and ‘off’ line and is just as comfortable designing learning solutions behind the scenes as he is presenting at the front of the room.
Over the years has been involved in the ‘start to finish’ design and development of a number of key projects including online and blended motivational interviewing courses, criminogenic programmes (for Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo: Youth residence) aimed at repeat high risk youth offenders, various family violence awareness and intervention programmes, and a toolkit for schools and community agencies, designed as a how to guide for staff wanting to understand and work with children who have been exposed to domestic and family violence.
